Nervousness and Excitement!

Jessica D.

As student teaching draws to a close, I am becoming more nervous and excited about the upcoming Study Abroad trip. During this past week, I have been making lists (they help me think!), packing, repacking, and making last minute trips to the store. I'm incredibly nervous about the trip, especially because I am worried about forgetting an important item or the airline losing my luggage. On the other hand, thinking and planning have helped me to keep my mind off of the end of my student teaching experience. It has been a busy but bittersweet week; I am excited to be graduating but devastated to be leaving a class of absolutely wonderful students. I'm hoping that this trip will also help to take my mind off of the fact that, for the first time in four months, I will not be heading to school early on Monday morning! It might make the transition smoother to be so far around the world, busily making memories to bring back and share with my student teaching students when I visit their classroom again at the end of the semester.
