Another Beautiful Day

Jessica D.

We began the day with a torrent of rain, but the sun began shining by the time we reached Postojna, the first stop of the day. The Postojna Caves were a maze of tunnels, Limestone, and Stalagmites. We came in by train and I felt like I might hit my head on the tunnel ceilings a few times, but this giant cave rivaled the American Mammoth Cave. The next stop was Predjama Castle, the only castle in the world which was built into a cave. The history of the castle was amazing (and disturbing) and the views from the top were gorgeous. After that, we stopped in Piran for lunch and enjoyed the beautiful coastal city with its rocky shore and view of Croatia in the distance. Tonight we are on the way to Pula, Croatia...I can’t wait for our adventures in the fourth country of our trip!
