The Special Education Centre Janez Levec Ljubljana is an amazing institution catering to the unique needs of students with differing abilities. In the first classroom we observed, one student was able to count to 100 while another could only count to 5. The teacher was very patient and explained that students within the school spend more time learning about everyday tasks and less time on academics. In the second classroom, we talked to students in Grade 9 who taught us more about their language and heritage. It is obvious that this school is a wonderful place for students to learn and grow at their own pace with individualized support.
